Anyway replacing an integrated graphics chip with a video card possible?

Here is my situation, I have an older computer that was built by someone else. In it they used this motherboard ASUS P4P800 MX and it had been running off the integrated video set up.

However now the computer will not respond to multiple tried monitors (IE. they say they can not receive a signal), though the computer itself seems to work just fine, as in starts up/disk drive opens and closes.

I just figured something went bad with the Intel Extreme2 Graphics chip and thus I was wondering if it was possible to install a separate video card for it to use? I'm not sure about how the drivers would get installed for it and that I couldn't go into the bios to change any settings since I have no way to get a visual image.

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated, it is used at a work facility and thus its a time sensitive matter >< if anyone has any other ideas or anything else that may be of help I welcome any insight into this situation I have seem to have gotten stuck in

To be absolutely sure, you would have to take it to a shop where they can test it. Is it possible that the video cable (VGA, DVI, HDMI?) has gone bad? Can you try a new/good cable from a working machine.

That is a pretty aged motherboard. If it is in daily use, it could well have reached its EOL. As could the processor.

ah, I see. also in looking up information about the problem I see it could be the whole motherboard is bad, I know I cant replace that on my own. those PCI slot cards are not to expensive so I would gladly buy one if there was a chance to fix it.

If it was a graphics chip problem no way to know if I would need to change something in the bios or need visual screen access to have it use the new one is there? I guess its just a case by case type thing and only way to know is to try it?
