My brother does heavy video editing and 3D Animation and Modelling however he doesn't know what parts he needs.

I've put this together but it's probably the most unbalanced build ever:

He will also be playing games like BF4, AC4, Watch Dogs and a lot of next-gen games. He will also be recording, live-streaming and rendering videos in 1080p.

Budget is £8000 - holy crap. Thanks. Anything a lot cheaper would probably be a lot cheaper. He is also expecting to use this pc for a long time. He also wants 3 Monitors, a keyboard, mouse and OS.

Seems kinda crazy to spend 8k to be able to play on 3 screens... why do you think this rig is unbalanced, BTW? It pretty much seems you just added the best in class to every category on the form in Pcpartspicker.

I'm not very good at choosing parts for a Computer so I thought that maybe something like the CPU wouldn't work well with the 4 GPUs. But yeah, 8k on a build is a lot but I'm guessing that he only needs to spend about 2k. I'm not sure but he really needs a good build - one that can animate well and render pretty good.

Well, I don't think you really need 4 cards to game at 3x1080p, but if moneys no thing (again 8k budget...). Also, Titan or quadro cards would be better for rendering than GTX. Also, which cards and how many will be influenced by the software that he is going to run. Do you know what software he uses?

Photoshop CS6
Premiere Pro CC
Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite 13
After Effects CC
3DS Max
Cinema 4D

He does a lot of modelling and animation for things like short films but again I don't think he needs to spend 8k on a build, it's just his limit.

I also asked what monitor he might use and he said that he will probably use this one - it was also in the build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb278q

Things I believe he does need is a lot of Hard Drive space, a good Full HD screen, cool temperatures and good processing power.

Cinema 4d rendering is done with the CPU, so more cores and faster cores = faster rendering time. Video cards only render the previews, and I'm not sure C4D uses SLI or not (cant find the info)

3dsmax does not certify GTX or radeon HD cards for use, only Quadros and Fire cards. The only GTX card on their approved list is the GTx 690. This may be outdated, but I pulled it from autodesks site today.

I don't think the other software is sped up by graphics cards, so the cards are really only used for previews on max/c4d, and for gaming. However, I thought those monitors were 1080p, they are 1440p, thats a fair extra pixels. If the machine is going to be the tits for gaming, he might want 3 cards. I can't see 4 being very useful, the efficiency of multi card setups deteriorate after 2 cards.
