I see all of these bad reviews on power supplies, no matter what band. What is the best affordable power supply? This is the 4/3 year old power supply I am using: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/ite...

I like it, but I think I need a new one because it is old. I am trying to protect my computer. I love my 4670k, and my asus z87 pro mobo.

(I have been reading reviews from newegg.)

No, I never overclock my gpu. I have a 7770. I am planing on buying a gigabyte gtx 760, that is why I think I might need something with 750w.

no, not at all.GeForce GTX 760 - 30A and a 500W PSU minimum recommended. 750w would be a waste of money. your current psu can run this gpu. it can provide the 12 v rail with 38A as your link states so its enough. make sure your psu isnt overheating or not making any wierd noises(coil whine).also you can use hw monitor for the psu voltage readings.if everything seems ok no need for an upgrade.

With 38 amps on the 12 v rail you have more than enough power to run the 760.

The 760 only needs 30 amps . So you have plenty to spare.

being old isnt enough reason fot it to be replaced.do you have any sign that it is mulfanctioning or dying?as i mentioned sudden restarts, overheating, coil whine are signs of a dying psu. if those symptoms are not currently happening your psu is ok . if after the upgrade though emerge then you should emediately get a new one. i think it worths a try. if you still want to upgrade anyway. this would be a great choise http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and can easily run a 770

No, it is silent. I have not had any issues. I just thought I should play it safe, and buy a new one. How long do non-OEM power supplies last? Sorry for all the questions.

All depends on the system they were in and how the system was treated. No reason to change if it's running smooth.

I keep my computer on 24/7, and overclocked my 4670k 4.4ghz. I play battlefield when I am not working on t-shirt graphics. Thank you for the help.
