R9 270x toxic vs. EVGA 760 SC ACX

without mantle, the 760 wins in most games, and as things currently stand it is the faster, but also more expensive card.
after mantle, the 270x should outperform the 760 but only in mantle games (google which games will support) so far BF4, THIEF, star citizen and a few others will support it. Mantle will not be released this month as it has been delayed yet again (now over 3 months late)

Personally i feel the mantle performance claim combined with the release of new cards was a huge marketing scheme to sell more cards, and the constant pushback of it's release is in part due to the performance gain being less than what has been promised. I could be wrong of course, but this is just the way this marketing of the amd cards has rubbed me

ok, then if you play non mantle games, the 760 is faster. once mantle is released by amd, it is likely that the 270x will outperform the 760 in those games .

this is because they are very similar in performance to begin with, and it wouldnt take much to push the 270x over the 760 in performance

I would advise waiting until amd has released mantle next month, but if you can't wait, it's a leap of faith with the 270x, and a sure thing with the 760 (mind you the performance difference is almost not noticable to begin with)

Yeah, basically. The only reason i'm being a little bit mysterious sounding about the whole issue rather than one sided is because while the performance gap is small, it is still there between the two cards (up to 10% in some games)
