Hey I'm building a first time gaming PC for my little bro and I was looking into the AMD Kaveri APUS as an option and I was wondering as a GPU upgrade path would he ba able to upgrade in a year or so to a amd R9 270X/270/260X and would they still dual fire with the IGP

Do your bro a favor and get a decent setup with a better upgrade path from the start. You could go with a Pentium G and a 260x now for a similar cost of a 7850k. You can only hybrid crossfire a 240 or 250 and the results are not stellar with regards to microstuttering.

Im pretty sure Kaveri does DUAL GRAPHICS with the R7 250s and 240s. I dont know about the 260s but this article says no on the 260Xs.
