Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options > Motion > adjust the slider

You can use your keyboard to navigate most of the computer. press Tab to cycle through options, press the windows key to bring up the start menu, press enter to select an option. It's perfectly do able, but your bios never has any control over your mice.

OH the mouse is slow in the BIOS, I thought you meant the mouse was just slow everywhere.
It's likely there is some compatibility issues with the between the mobo and mouse. Probably any ol' cheap mouse would work fine.
