First I'd like to say I do not know under where should I post this thread, so please forgive me and redirect my thread if it is misplaced.
I have built my own PC about 2 months ago (specs should be found as signature) and it has been running wonderfully. Granted, it seems that its processing speed has mysteriously decreased (see thread http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1977476/graphic-card-slowing.html) but otherwise it has been working like a charm.
Just today I received my Samsung 840 SSD that I want to install to counteract the decreasing performance. After putting everything in its place, I tried to turn on my PC. My PC did turn on, but my monitor remained black blank, while my CPU and VGA fans starting whirring at full speed. Seeing that this never happened before, and that the monitor remained blank, I force shut down it (or what do you call press and holding the power button?) and tried turning it up again.
After the 2nd unsuccessful try, I tried to disconnect my SSD first to see if its the source of the problem. Still the same result: Blank black screen, maximum fan speeds.
I tried changing my VGA back to an older one I had, a Gtx 630. This time, when I tried to turn it on, I heard a double-click noise coming from the power supply. But nothing happened. No fans, no lights, absolutely nothing. Upon further inspection, when I turned my power supply on, I can hear the fans of the power supply running. I have no idea if this is related to this situation or not.
Then I proceeded to connect my PC with my old PS supply, a Xilenser 600W. Still no change: All silent, no monitor activity. Double-click noise also heard from power supply.
Right now I have returned my PC to its original components listed on my specs. It won't turn on and I am truly and completely at a loss for what to do. Please help.
