After playing BF4 for about an hour or so it freezes my entire PC and I am forced to to use the power button to power it off. This doesn't happnen in any other game. Is this yet another issue with the critically acclaimed BF4?

They break something new in every new release whilst occasionally fixing something, only to be broken later. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that you have this issue.

A recoverable freeze is usually the GPU. Non-recoverable is usually the CPU/memory. Your signature says your I7 is o/c to 4.3GHz, is this not the case anymore?

The CPU is overclocked, not the GPU

I have a 92mm (soon to be 120mm) noctua fan blowing air directly towards thr GPU fans. It usually stays around 75-80 degrees Even while running unigine valley

Regarding BF4 its always said that it crashes computer after a new update, i have seen many on the official forum and they will release a hotfix after which the problem is fixed. I don think that temp you have mentioned is high which could cause crash. Do you get any error or does the comp just freeze?

A complete freeze of the entire system. Not even task manager works. I have to turn it off by the button which I'm not too keen on. There is no error message when my PC boots back up

Turns out I was still on the previous beta drivers so I have updated to the official release.
I will have to let you know if it runs tomorrow.

I have the same problem a brief flicker of neon lights and then complete Freeze. I tried everything and nothing works, sometimes if I play in border-less mode the crash is recoverable.. In my opinion it is the combination BF4+NVIDIA+Windows 8.1 = disaster. My system is water cooled and nothing goes beyond 40 C.

2 loop water-cooled - 2* 680 GTX - i7 3970 - Rampage Extreme IV - 32 GB Ram - 1200w Corsair - 5760*1080 resolution

I also have no error posts at start up nor anything in the log..
