msi geforce gtx 780 ti vs Sapphire Radeon R9 290X HELP !!!!

Solution

that is true 780 ti is the fastest single card but if you are driving high resolutions 1440p and above and you decide to get 2 or more gpus the 290x cards in crossfire will out pace the ti's by around 10 - 20% plus dice claims the mantle patch for bf4 will net you a 58% performance boost with that setup so 290's do seem like the better choice so long as they are properly cooled

The 780ti is the fastest single GPU out there. If you can get a 290x for around $600 the performance boost of the 780ti isn't worth it. Plus sapphire is a better card maker than msi. If you got the money the 780ti cannot be beat, but I would look at EVGA for a card.

I would say both are more or less equal, few games have better gameplay with radeon n few better with nvidia. But I would prefer R9 290x because of Mantle ! Trust me its the emerging technology which is going to change gameplay to a new dimension

Mantle will only be successful if they allow nvidia to support it, so it is not a game changer. So it will either not matter or if amd wants to exclude a huge chunk of the market then nvidia will create their own solution. Mantle hasn't done anything yet and even its CES demonstration was a joke.

I don't know what resolution you're playing at so for now I'll assume your playing at 1920x1080, if so then the nVidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti is definitely better, even a reference design overclocked can run every game at maximum settings with 4x MSAA at 58-60+ FPS (in my benchmarks that is) let alone the MSI version is an aftermarket design (at least the cooler is) . Plus it comes with 3 games and i believe a $200 discount on an nVidia Shield. Then again it is $200 more than an AMD Radeon R9 290X.
