Hi i have got a asus maximus formula vi
core i7 4770k

when i attempt to do overclocks.. the max i can achieve with a h100i is 4.6.
now when i attempt to get 4.8 and get my voltage up to 1.350 it wont work?
is it safe to go any higher than that voltage for the option --> adaptive move --> cpu core voltages --> additional turbo mode cpu core voltage --> 1.350 (this links in with total adaptive mode cpu core voltage) automatically adjusts to the number i input above

running xmp profile for my ram and it is a corsair vegeneance pro 16gb at 1866mhz

please help thanks.

it's not advised. even the best 4770k's only make it up to 4.8. stick with your 4.6 and accept that you may not have the best overclocking 4770k.

wish there was more too it, but if you can get it to 4.6 with no real problem, but can't make it to 4.8 with 1.35v, i would back off.

ive just checked my temps again and managed to get an even better cpu core voltage 4.5 ghz stable at 1.220v
should i still go back to 4.6 which was making my cpu push to 1.3v+?

My opinion on the matter says no, as even that extra .1 mhz just really isn't worth it if you have to crank the voltage up that much more
