hey guys i'm building a pc and wanted to know what you guys thought of my build ideas so far. i want it to be mainly used for video editing and rendering(3d stuff) bu also want to play games like crazy. i have right know $525 bu plan on spending $900.

CPU: AMD FX 8350 Price: $200

GPU: AMD 7850 Price: $150
AMD 7850 Price: $150

Case: Modding old one

PSU: Need help on this one.

MOBO: Assus m5a97 Price $75 would want one that could run 16x on two gpus and support 32gb ram

RAM: want at least 8gb but opt for 16gb speed faster better

HDD: Western Digital 1tb 7200 rpm Price: i think $70

After cooler would be nice but not necessary.

thanks for any help you might give and i want to hear your opinion.

I like the look of the build so far. Thanks IIAJaayII. But what's the difference between a GTX 660 and the dual AMD 7850's. why did you choose that?

AMD Radeon, I live in the US. My budget is $900 because i feel that its the sweet spot for a powerful system. I'm going to be 17 this year and want to save the rest of my money, once i reach my pc goal, to be put towards college.

It might be awhile before i reach it but do you guys think i should start buy stuff or wait until i have all the money?

I'm new here too and about to start my build once I figure out exactly what I want. Anyways, I was planning on buying some of my parts now and the rest once I had the money but a few people told me to wait and buy all at once. Since most of the parts have a 30 day return time, if you have a part that doesn't work or is dead on arrival you won't have anything to test it on. So you should wait and buy everything at once.

Ya. that's probably a good idea just waiting and buying later because by the time i have the money i would be able to get more with it than if i had the money now.

All this things to choose is making my head spin. AMD vs NIVIDIA. AMD vs INTEL. you just can't decide on anything. but i got a magazine last year for my birthday. it was the Maximum PC magazine. Its a great way to read up on all the latest and narrow down what you want in your computer. Now i haven't spent a dime on any of the four magazines i got. birthday and Christmas covered that. but if your interested in getting it you can get the pdf and just print it out. the pdf version cost just i think maybe 10 cents a months. but ya that and talking to you guys has really helps. thanks for answering aray88.

what Intel processor would i get though? The i5 4770k? because that would put my processor up to $240 in the build or should i just stick to the fx 8350? you are the master of all things AMD and i trust you judgement. Also you suggested the Amd Radeon 270X. Is that because its the newer card or it would work better in crossfire later? I did check on a benckmark website to see if that was the card for me and i really like the 84.3 fps it gets on Battlefield 3 using 1920x1080 - Ultra Quality + FXAA-High: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU14/808. i think i might go for that card AMD Radeon. Thanks for the help.

Do you think i should go for the 2 or 4gb version? its about a hundred dollar differences. but is it really worth it???

As far as the psu was this the one you were talking about??? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006.
It said the price was $100 after mail and rebate.

The FX-8350 is fine, there is no need for an intel, unless you want a very very small FPS increase like 3-5 more FPS for 100$ more. Get the FX-8350 and aftermarket cooling to OC it to around 4.5Ghz and you will be fine.
SLI is better then Crossfire, so if you plan to put two cards in the system then I recommend the GTX 760, Also Benchmarks: http://www.hwcompare.com/15662/geforce-gtx-760-vs-radeon-r9-270x/
Then again the 760 is 20-30$ more. Only get a higher GB version if you plan on getting mulit monitors. Or 1440p monitor, in which case I would recommend you to get a better gpu if that was the case.
750W PSU isn't needed as your PC currently from PC part picker says: Estimated Wattage: 404W
Also that PSU isn't Modular meaning the cable arrangement isn't going to be pretty and you could lose airflow.

Thanks for the input. I will be looking allot more before i make up my mind on anything but i did come up with a quick list for the sake of discussion. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ransacker/saved/3Aj6
I know that IIAJaayII you favor Nivida and i will do a lot more research into their products. However i did stick in the R9 270X just because i know a little more about it (not taking sides) and put in the 750w PSU in there too just because it looks like a great deal (i'll keep looking for one that has better cable management). As for the RAM i have no idea what to get but put Kingston in their because its the only brand i know. the optical drive is really needed and would be something i bought after everything because i have an old one laying around (probably should've mention that in the first place).

Anyway thanks for helping me everyone. I feel allot more confident about everything. But as P.S. what about mantle for AMD products? I know that you can pump out huge fps in bf4. Why should i not take advantage of that?
