Monitor not receiving dvi signal

Hi guys,

My monitor is not receiving the dvi signal from my gpu. It is plugged into the gpu and it can receive signal through d-sub with a dvi adapter.

The monitor was working perfectly up until I wiped the computer last week and now I can only receive the dvi signal from when the computer boots to straight after the windows loading bar.

I have used another dvi cable to test whether the cord was at fault, but I am still receiving no signal.

In display settings windows recognises that there is another display available but nvidia control does not.

OS: Vista x64
GPU: Geforce GTX 620
Monitor: Benq G2400WD

I haven't had to deal with this issue before so I'm rather new to the lingo. I apologise if that didn't make a whole lot of sense.

I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me. I'm wondering whether I'm missing a driver update or something?

Thank you.

Okay, my monitor can receive signal through a HDMI cable with an adapter. So I'm content to leave it at that. Though I'm still curious why it's not receiving any signal through DVI.
