I agree that Win7 is best, but I've only ever used Apple's OS X and Windows XP, 7 and 8. There are alternatives such a Linux that are gigantic pikes of free software with next-to-no viruses. However, this is the sort of thing that breeds arguments. I recommend sticking to what you know.

Solution
Well just in windows 8 is better than 7 in all but the interface which with the update is really the same now, you don't have to use the apps screen. I haven't used Linux a whole lot but if you know what your doing it can be probably the best. I'm not the biggest fan of Apple OS but I haven't used it a ton either
