I want to clone my OS to a new SSD, but nearly EVERYTHING is on the same partition.
Win7_64bit ( C: ) 493 GB
100MB EFI system partition
Crucial M500 240 GB SSD destination drive...... so how do I go about relocating programs and deleting files/programs which I don't want or need. I've lost most of my serial #'s to flooding so reinstalling fresh is not an option accept for some of the free ones. Just don't want to lose my access to relocated programs... and don't know how to relocate them either.
A little wisdom if you could?....

just an idea, list down your apps, then if you have (or can download) the installers of those free. try to remove/uninstall them. Then after that, see how much space is still being taken up. then you will know how much more you need, maybe it will fit your ssd.

but i would suggest, that, you retrieve your keys, you'll never know when you have to reinstall/format

There is another option; paragon's migrate os to ssd, which does exactly what it says. Unfortunately its not free but you can often find discount coupons on the net for it. It will move only the OS leaving everything else intact and functioning on the hdd.

Since you have no serial numbers for your software yet. I hope you have been running backups. Even brand new drives can fail without warning. if you don't have any then please create a backup or image of your current drive.
