Hi guys,

I'm currently looking to upgrade my XPS 8300's graphics card.

My current specs are

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

Memory: 12GB RAM

Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Graphics type: GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Dedicated memory: 1.2GB

PSU: Stock 460w

I'm currently looking at the Sapphire HD 7870 GhZ Edition 2GB as seen below as well as the 650w power supply.

Will these fit okay into the XPS 8300 and have no other problems that i may have overlooked?

Would appreciate someones help on this matter.

Thanks!

The HD 7870 isn't much more power demanding that the older GTX 560ti: http://www.hwcompare.com/12209/geforce-gtx-560-ti-vs-radeon-hd-7870/
If the GTX 560ti worked with no issues on your stock PSU, chances are the HD 7870 will too. But you will need 2 PCIe aux 6/8 pin connectors.

But if you want to upgrade to a bigger PSU, that will work fine. And if you have the necessary room for the 260mm long card, you should be good with that card.
