WINDOWS 8 Re-set option? Should i?

My laptop(HP pavillion g7 )which came stock with WIN 8 is running sluggish and wanted to get it back to where it was when i first bought it ,it is almost a year old now and is very slow loading pages and downloading things.
I was reading that with WIN 8 you can totally re-install the OS internally by using the re-set feature, but i also read where for some this took up to a full day to finish!!! :O
That is ridiculous just for re-installing a OS!
Would i be better off using the re-fresh setting to accomplish what i want or do i need to use the re-set option?

Maybe, It does depend on what caused the slow down.
-Also on windows 8 you can log on locally or onto the net. The net version will be slower and will sync a bunch of files in the background that will slow your connection.
- you can google on how to create or activate another local account for your machine then log on to that account.

basically, programs will put a bunch of hidden files in a hidden directory under your account name and the directory can grow very large and have a lot of things running on your machine automatically. When you create new account and log on the hidden files will not be associated with the new user and the machine will seem to work faster.

It depends on the cause of the slowness. Often you just need to clear your internet temp files and browser history (see your browser menus) and your browser will start working much better. If the cause of the slowness is a hard drive that is spitting up errors, you will find a refresh will not help.

You might give this a try, create another user account for that machine and log onto that account and see if it works faster. If it does then you just have a software configuration issue with the first account.

thanks for the help, so all i have to do is log on as a guest and see if it is faster?
