Just bought a Pentium G3220 for either a friend's build or my htpc. I can't seem to find any information on the Intel HD Graphics. I'm only finding info for HD2000, 4000, etc. I'm wondering if I can use the integrated graphics for htpc purposes or if I'd be better of using an old ATI 4830 or buying a cheap 5450.

I also have a A6-5400k I bought at first for the htpc, but the pentium looks to be a better overall processor. Or, is the 5400k better for a htpc?

Solution
As a rule of thumb for myself when building HTPC's - I build with 2GB RAM, 1 processing core/thread and 90GB HDD for the operating system. Add 1.5GB RAM and 1 processing core/thread for each concurrent HD video stream being utilized (recorded or watching at the same time).

I have my personal HTPC in the bedroom, and use an XBox360 to display on my 60" HDTV. The XBox works better in my opinion for full HD video.
It would depend upon your use for the system - HD video isn't that hard for the onboard GPU - the question is more geared to how much RAM and/or CPU is needed for contiguous video streams. If you are using the computer to display Netflix, Hulu and other streaming - it will be less processor intensive as compared to utilizing 3-4 digital cable tuners watching/recording 4 HD video streams.
