I need to get two new displays for a radiologist and I need to keep them under $500 each. I was looking at the Dell UltraSharp U2412M, but I was wondering if there would be anything similar or better for similar or less money? He's going to be reading medical images so the contrast and color accuracy need to be as perfect as I can get them and resolution needs to be at least 1920x1080.

Thank you in advance

The resolution on this screen is great, but it's far too large and the color accuracy and contrast is awful which are the most important features I'm looking for. Thanks for the input though!

Yes, you're right that those are the monitors those are the monitors we would typically use. Actually,we do use those. We have 4 of them on this workstation that all show images as well, but one of the pieces of software doesn't support them which is why they've also got to use 2 other monitors.

I'll give the Acer's a try and see what they think. Thank's for the suggestion.

The company I'm with carries pretty much the whole range of Barco medical monitors. We like these because these are the only diagnostic monitors with internal calibration. When you're looking at medical monitors, you have to consider not just price but resolution. For instance, the FDA says mammos have to be viewed at a certain resolution, so if you're looking for a monitor to view these test it will have to be at least 5MP.

I can get you a brand new BARCO MDRC-1119 for $499. It's 19" and has a 1280 x 1024 resolution.

All our monitor solutions come as a total, complete plug and play package. The package includes the monitor, the Barco graphics card ( Windows 7, 64 bit compatible), and all the necessary cables and adapters. Refurbished units come with a 3 year unlimited usage warranty and a 3 year loaner warranty – for new units this is five years – as well as a 30 day money back guarantee.

We can get you pretty much any Barco monitor at better price than you will find anywhere else. We have pairs of 3MP and 5MP monitors going from $3000-10,000 with all the stuff I mentioned included.
