My machine is has .5 Mbps upload speeds. I know this problem is on my machine because I tested my connection on all my another computers. Another computers get the rated upload speeds of 5Mbps or more. My gaming PC does not.

I have updated the network drivers.

I have tested it on Ethernet.

I have tested it in Safe Mode and still get the same .3 - .5 Mbps on Speed test.

I have spent hours on this problem.

I need help. =(

I found a solution to it. I had upgraded to a new SSD and had default windows thinking that it would get rid of the problem if its software based.. It was still there even with a fresh install of windows. =/

I then thought the problem to be my wireless USB adapter and bought a new one from newegg.com and that solved it!! I guess you could try to get a new network card or usb adapter.

There are a few things that could cause this problem. I would scan for virus infections, and clean my temp files and browsing history.

What is your anti-virus software, is it by chance Kaspersky?

Also check for driver updates for your network adapter.

I developed this same issue by chance. My McAfee had just ran out so I went to get a temporary solution until I could start

a new subscription with McAfee. So I downloaded Kaspersky and did a scan, nothing. I started to notice my internet is

really slow, and I was thinking driver or virus. After finding out all my drivers were already up to date I went to the interwebs,

and did some network diagnostics with iNetwork (Asus Software). Going to speedtest.net with my network diagnostics

running I found that a particular function out of Kaspersky was running (AVP.exe) and taking all my bandwidth. So I

uninstalled Kaspersky and installed Webroot, not only did my internet get back to normal speeds, but Webroot found 6

infections that neither McAfee or Kaspersky found.

The difference between yours and bgi123's issue is he is suppose to be getting 25Mbps Download and 5Mbps Upload. If you want to get the same call you ISP and make for sure what you download and upload speeds are. If they are higher you will want to tell them you are not getting the right speeds. If they are about right with in 1-2Mbps difference then you are prob. stuck with what you got unless you ISP provides a better speed than what you have.
