My set up is
Asus z87 pro
I5 4670k
8 GB ram 1600
R9 270x 4gb
600w 80plus PSU

Been out of PCs for 12 years. Just built this rig and used the asus suite 3. 4 way optimisation

I'm a bit confused but its ocd to 4.6 GHz and set the voltage to 1.5

Windows is still showing as 3.4 and I read that 1.5v is a bit high.

How can I undo what the suite has done? And how can I lower the voltage as I read people are getting better results with lower voltage.

I'm a bit of a noon now and feel like I've jumped in at the deep end lol

I own the same board, but unfortunately have not done any OCing. With regards to the AI Suite III the optimization that you did must've been automatic (being the system determines as what frequency and voltage can the system run stable). Check out Page 6 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/Z87-DELUXE/...

With regards to revering it to to its original settings i don't see that

Now I have it stable at 4.6 could I switch to manual and keep lowering the voltage and re booting to check stability? Is that safe to do. 1.5 seems very high and I would prefer to be at 1.2 .. Seems strange this software is happy to do this when its apparently not great for the cpu

I personally wouldn´t be comfortable with 1.5V. Not at all!
What are your temperatures?

Also, I´d disable the overclock and do it all manually, making sure everything is stable and within good temperatures.

im confused by the voltage setting. on second look it sais adaptive and offset voltage is 0 , OC voltage is now 1.275 so does that mean it will never go past 1.275? im happy with 4.6 Ghz oc with 1.275
