I am building a gaming computer. I am stretching my budget really tight as is, and I need a copy of Windows 8. I was told that you can get an OS for cheap, if you know where to find them. Does anyone know where that might be?
It isn't that I can't afford it, it's that I'm cheap. I need Windows for gaming purposes, and I am quite good at using it and would prefer it on a system that I spend upwards of $1000 on. As I said earlier, I was told by a fellow forum member that there were LEGAL ways of obtaining it for lowish prices. If you don't know what these may be, then don't post. Simple as that.

It's against forum rules to provide information on how to obtain software illegally.
The answer is simple, go buy it. The price for the software is about $90-100.
If you aren't able to afford the software, Linux is free and open-source.
Yes plus the OEM versions of Windows 8 and 8.1 have a special "Windows system builder provision" in the license agreement that extends to system builders and allows you to use it across multiple motherboards and drives.
