Attaching Celeron heatsink to CPU fan pin issues

Solution
Unless the pins on the header are bent, it should slip right on. We've all had them on and off a million times. I never even considered it to be something difficult. Just line up the key on the plug with the tab sticking up from the header and push the pins in:

If the tab's lip is in the way, pull the tab back a tad with your fingernail to allow the plug to slide down.

I imagine you are just not aligning the pins and the plug perfectly. Be sure the key is facing the right way and use a flashlight if you need to see better. If worse comes to worse, remove the MB from the case and plug it in on the bench.
