Graphics card upgrade and motherboard not working.

I have recently purchased a gtx 770 for my computer, replacing my old 650. When I went to install it, all I did was switch the cards, I did nothing with drivers or bios. When I plugged my computer in, absolutely nothing happened. I talked to nvidia employees, but all I learned was that I needed to update my motherboard. I reset the Bios (by taking the battery and RAM out) but now when I tried to update, and put the 770 back in, once again nothing happened. I tried reseting it again but it didn't work with the 650 like it did last time. I have no idea what's going on with my computer, I have drivers for both cards, and Msi live update 5 didn't work. My motherboard is an Msi 970A-G43. I would love help on what steps to take to get my computer running again, and sorry for the length of this question.

Right, sorry, FX chip.

Hmm, lemme see. Are you able to use something like an Acronis boot USB to backup your current hard drive?

If so, your easiest option would absolutely be to back up your hard drive, reinstall windows, and then copy over the backed up files.

Before you do that, though, triple check to make sure that the card is firmly in the PCIe slot - sometimes the cards PCB is a little bit too thick and causes issues.
