Last night I built a new PC and after a few issues everything is running properly. I installed the 7870, added both 6 pin power plugs. I plug my DVI into the 7870 and windows 7 loads fine. Here are the problems:
1. I installed the drivers from the CD, after loading windows the screen goes fuzzy and then blue. Safe mode works, so I installed driver sweeper and removed the drivers.
2. I installed the drivers from manually choosing them on AMD site, after loading windows the screen goes glitchy and then blue. Nothing changes unless its safe mode.
3. I updated the bios to my motherboard, nothing.
4. AMD autodetect does not find the hardware or os error message.
5. I removed the 7870 from the PCI 3.0 and placed it in the PCI 2.0 same problems.
6. Windows shows the device with a hardware ID that matches the device. I have tried removing and replacing the card multiple times. I have removed the drivers and reinstalled multiple times.
Im at a loss, Im hoping its something simple I have overlooked but I doubt it.
