I have an Acer Iconia W700 that I have owned for about a year. Its was operating fine until about two days ago, when it wouldn't connect to my home Wi-Fi. However, if I go to my friend's house my tablet will connect to their Wi-Fi fine with internet access, therefore ruling out the chance it's my tablet's problem. But I have already changed my modem and router and the issue is still there, so the problem can't be my networking equipment. All my other devices connect fine. So what can I do to fix it?

I have already tried:
Reinstalling Windows (no help)
Buying a new modem and router as stated above (worked for a few hours, then breaks)
Reinstall wireless drivers, downloading from different sources each time (works for a few minutes each time, then gets disconnected)
Use other wireless adapters such as Cisco AM10 (works for a few hours, then breaks)

For those tl : dr people:
Tablet can't connect to my Wi-Fi, but connects to other networks fine. How should I fix the problem.

Solution

I solved the problem by myself finally. Turns out that if I disconnect my two RAIDed external HDD's and then connect to the network everything works perfectly fine, even I I reconnect them after. Guess I will never know what the actual underlying problem is... Anyway, thanks to the one who helped me and mods, you can close this thread.

Try resetting modem settings to default and create a new connection, that might fix your issue.
Else, there must be a manual for your modem and router. Go through it thoroughly and read the part about how to update its firmware(modem). Kust download the latest firmware and reinstall it carefully. Good luck :)

Both modem and router are on default firmware and resetting to factory doesn't help.

look for updated firmware on their website. And go through instructions carefully before you update it.

Or try this method if it brings you any luck:
Click Start, go to accessories.
Right-click Command Prompt, choose Run as Administrator
At the command prompt, copy and paste or type the bold text from below then press ENTER:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Reboot the computer.
Make new connection.

Doesn't work?

Make sure you are obtaining an IP address automatically.
Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing > Local Area Connection > Properties >
Highlight Internet Protocol Version 6 and click Properties. Make sure Obtain an IP address and Obtain DNS server address automatically is "ticked".
Do this also for Internet Protocol Version 4.

go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center> Change adapter settings > Right click on the connection you are using > Diagnose.
if that doesn't solve your problem, i would suggest you to connect your network provider.

That doesn't solve problem, and calling Bell just tells me to reboot everything, which doesn't help either.

I have the exact same problem, I was shocked reading it is happening with somebody else too.
Same computer as well, Iconia W700
My problem has started after I updated to Win 10.
Since I don't have any external drive connected to the computer, I can't use your solution.
Also, I have a USB WiFi adapter, with that one connected everything is working well, so it doesn't seem like it is a general network issue in the OS.
Router is a Verizon modem/router combo, had no problem with it before, other computers and devices at home can connect with no problem.
Strange...
