This is the first time Im building a desktop and I am unsure of whether I really need all of this but I want this computer to last for a couple of years playing games on medium-high settings. (BF4, Planetside 2, etc..) I want to bring the price down to $600 or lower with out bringing down the performance too much. Where could i save money? etc..Thank you for any answers! Greatly appreciated.

A suggestion: look for used GPU for sale online. could save money and get a great deal.

Hey, If you want to get max performance in FPS in games for 600$, I assume you don't need an optical media? I believe the best solution would be to get the new kaveri APU and use dual graphics with an R7 260x. You would be surprised at what you get as a result. Add-in 8GB ram (2x4GB), a 1TB HD,

Now, this is just my own preference, but you could go for a mini-itx build. You will probably not overclock anything and since you only have a small video card added, you won't need a large case. So here is the breakdown (all prices taken from newegg.ca (should be cheaper on newegg.com):

GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XN-WIFI FM2+ 120$
AMD Kaveri A8-7600 45W 120$
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2133MHz 88$
Bitfenix Colossus m-itx (Not yet available..but soon) 90$
Thermaltake TR2 TR-500 500W 50$
Western Digital WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB 70$
XFX R7-260X-CNF4 Core Edition Radeon 155$

This is a bit overbudget and amounts to 693$. But there are two things. Check these items on newegg.com. You could wait for them to get on sale (which I usually do). Also, video card prices are a bit inflated right now for the new AMD cards due to bitcoin mining, etc. You could buy the rest of the PC and get the video card in 2-3 months when prices stabilize. This card was originally sold for 100$...it should settle back down to that point soon.

Again, this is my recommendation based on the budget you gave. I believe it should give you decent gameplay experience for medium settings. In the future you could simply upgrade the GPU.

Cheers.

Will I need to buy any extra fans with my first system? I ask this b/c this is my first build and connecting the fans looks like a bitch. Or will I be fine with the stock ones? BTW I do not plan on overclocking just because I dont want to fuck up something I just spent 700 bucks on haha

Overclocking is actually really easy. I did so on my current build and found it very simple once you invest a couple hours sifting through materials. Anyway, maybe one day you will.

You could add one fan to the front since the case only lists a Rear fan included. Then add a front fan like this:
Case Fan: Cooler Master Blade Master 76.8 CFM 120mm Fan ($8.93 @ NCIX US)
It's can be adjusted anywhere from 600-2000rpm. It really blows. I had 2 in my build. Also, since you aren't overclocking, yet, then 2 fans should be enough.

EDIT. With the fan you simply plug it into the mobo. If it's a 4 pin fan, like the one I listed, then your mobo can automatically control speeds or you can do so when you want. BTW, connecting fans is really easy. It's simply a matter of plugging into the CHA_FAN header on mobo.
