No the screen stays black I can hear the hard drive running but nothing loads. All the lights on the front come on, the light for the processor blink for about 4 second and stops blinking the hard drive still runs but the screen does NOT come on at all. So when I turn on the computer it self it doesn't load anything on the screen its just black with everything blinking at the bottom where it shows the Hard drive, then the cd drive, and then nothing still shows up. Its just blinking keys ON the computer (basically that's all that is working. ) Just the power on then nothing. Just dark void of nothing on the screen.

ok well i would say...you have to manually reset the BIOS. to do this you will have to open the case, and find where the CMOS battery is connected.
https://www.google.com/search?q=CMOS+laptop+battery&esp...
it will look like that, flat circular battery. you will unplug the cable (if the battery is in a plastic casing and has cable attachments) or you might have to pop the battery itself out (if its seated in a little bracket and will be exposed, no plastic casing over the battery at all). leave it out/unplugged for 2 minutes or so. THE LAPTOP IS UNPLUGGED, OFF AND BATTERY REMOVED AT THIS POINT i should mention lol. then plug it back in and the BIOS should be reset to stock conditions. if this doesnt work, i cant help you mate..

http://www.laptopparts101.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/1...
sitting in a bracket
or plastic coating
https://www.google.com/search?q=CMOS+laptop+battery&esp...
what im saying is if this doesnt work i fear the worst, the we damaged the motherboard somehow

i looked at the toshiba support page Q & A for your model laptop and some one asked if they can upgrade the cpu to an i7 and the tech responded saying no toshiba laptop CPUs are not upgradable. idk if you even can, laptops are usually built to max performance for what they are. you know what i mean? its cost efficient for the manufacturers.
if they build an i3 laptop with a motherboard that is better and can handle an i7 it would be more expensive for them to make and sell that, since so few people would even use that upgrade option. they realize if you want an i7 you can just buy the i7 laptop.

I'm having the same questions for the same motherboard! I really wish this story had a better ending lol So did You try the i7 again? Im thinking about doing the same thing. Maybe there is something you can do to boot from i7... idk ... Any more answers would be very helpful ThanxIt almost certainly will not work.
Either you cook the CPU, you cook the motherboard, or you cook both.
At the very least, you have wasted money buying a part that will not work.
What does your manufacturer say about different CPU's?

I couldn't get ahold of them on the phone So no answer. plus the laptop is out of WaranteeToshiba will tell you that your processor is soldered in and is NOT serviceable , However Toshiba LIES!! (Surprise) The same way as my Qosmio G35-AV600 when it came with 1 gig memory and bad vid drivers , drivers fixed I priced their 2 gig 533 memory , ON SALE FOR A VERY CHEAP TOSHIBA PRICE OF ONLY $999.99 Instant Discount of $20.00 imagine that , they swore No Other Memory Can Be Used Or It WILL damage the laptop , SO Tiger direct 2 , 2 gig 533 sticks ordered $54.99 each , dropped them in and laptop responded perfectly , replaced the 2 5400 rpm drives with seagate SATA6 7200 rpm 500 gig . Laptop still rocks , however due to serial number and manufacture date , windows 7 or Vista cannot be installed Toshiba has to make sure the laptop has an expiration date , plus the Monitor plates start generating thin vertical lines after so many hours as planned after exactly 1 year of noremal use plate must be repl;aced cant see , BUT toshiba wants over $498 for one a replacement with equaliser is less than $200 . OK?

Swapping RAM or the HDD is much different than swapping the CPU.

you obviously missed my earlier post and the 2 words toshiba lied because yopu can replace the i3 dual core 330 m with the i7 640m processor but you cannot put in the quad core i7 from the 2 core i3 it cannot see the extra 2 physical cores , in device manager the i3 shows 4 cores 2 physical 2 virtual that is how the bios is built . if you read carefully the toshiba lies means it is not soldered in .. how could you not see that part . see previous reply to i3 i7 swapout ,

Both still work last time I checked a couple of years ago.
As for a laptop CPU swap? Soldered or not soldered is only one consideration.
Does the motherboard chipset support a different CPU? Maybe, maybe not.
And the tier 1 helpdesk clown at Toshiba may not be the most clued in guy to ask.

I bel;ieved I Specified the Qosmio G35-AV600 has a serial number change mid year of manufacture .IF you look at Toshiba support for Vista and win 7 on the Qosmio G35-AV600 there is the first set of serial numbers that DOES NOT ALLOW VISTA OR WIN & , they tell you when the NEWER SERIAL Number begins with , from that point on you can upgrade the Operating system from XP Pro media edition to Vista or win 7 . The Satellite is an entirely different animal than the Qosmio G35-AV600 I thought I had written enough specificity to explain clearly what I meant. begging to differ on a satellite to a Qosmio is a far differ to beg on OR there are nit pickers that just want to half read and assume I am an idiot of some kind. Please read what I type instead of going through on a skip assuming you believe you know what I said But clearly missed what I meant . On the Toshiba site its a hide and seek search to locate the information about the mid serial number changes.i had to call Toshiba to get them to give me the link on the upgrade by serial numbers. before I got it. IF you upgrade the bios to the 3.80 intending to install 7 or vista on the low serial numbers , if you do not push the bios back to the previous one the play movies by simply putting the DVD in goes away , The bios needs to be put back at least 1 version ,I believe to load the start on movies needs the 3.40 bios .

Suggestion , IF you scroll back to where .... "thejrod2yasaves April 16, 2014 6:10:29 PM".... When he is putting in a processor and all works except the processor and screen , This was where the "Misunderstanding" began , if you read all sections from there down It may make a lot more sense. There are about 8 or 9 sections .IF you want the full skinny on the problem had then scroll up to the beginning where he replaced the processor .now I "Believe " he attempted to install a i7 G1 quad core , into a satellite A505-S6005 , I do know that a i7 , 640M 2 core will work fine because its 2 physical cores and 2 virtual cores . they will cross right over BUT a quad core cannot because the bios cannot see 2 more physical cores which should show 4 physical and 4 virtual in device manager .As I type it is on a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6005 laptop running the i7 dual core 640M processor it shows 4 cores in device manager and runs like a scalded dog . Fast ...
