I'm using Thermaltake Water 3.0 cooler for my cpu.

I upgraded my motherboard recently and I had to take the CPU backplate supplied by Thermaltake off from the old motherboard and move to the new motherboard.

In doing so, I had to take off the foam double sides tape off the backplate which was holding it on the old motherboard.

Since Thermaltake only supplied me with one set of foam double sided tape for one installation on one motherboard, can I just go down to a hardware store and buy a heat resistant foam double sided tape and cut it in the same shape and size as the OEM foam double sided tape and use it to hold the backplate on the new motherboard?

The reason why it had a foam is to create a distance between the backplate and front cpu cooler to make it very tight on the CPU.

U are right it will need the foam for installation, don't install without one..
the foam also function for pressure cushion and act electric insulation........

for using local tape... (never tried before) so no idea...
