Whenever I try to play a game in full screen mode my pc crashes and goes to a black screen. Is it a graphics card failure or a under powered psu?

Specs

Cpu: AMD FX-6300
Mobo: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 LE
Memory: G.Skill 1x4gb 1600
Graphics Card: Power Color HD7790 OC edition
PSU: Antec 450w

Thanks!

make sure you are not using beta drivers(use WHQL drivers)
next thing is to check your gpu and cpu temperature
is it doing with just single game or every game?
450watts is more than enough for one HD7790 gpu so you don't have to worry about that.

Im not using beta drivers, I'm using AMD Catalyst version 13.12. I not quite sure how to get my cpu temp while playing but my gpu temp fluctuates from 40-50. I've tried every game I have, from Planetside 2 to Just Cause 2 and it happens on all of them. I've tried windowed mode and it work longer that full screen but still crashes like 5min into the game. Btw thanks for the fast response!

try unpluging your gpu and its pcie cables and clean the pcie slot on mobo. Replug your gpu and pcie cable. Turn on pc and see if it works?
If not, you might trying re-installing directx.

You could also try running in administrator or compatibility modes, if you haven't already. Check your temps with any of these software:HWmonitor, MSI Afterburner, GPU tweak for highest and lowest reading.

have you OCed your cpu and gpu?
Update your bios+motherboard+cpu & gpu drivers.
Let me know what results you got?
