I'm looking to upgrade the ram in my new laptop, but I seem to be getting mixed messages about what I can add. I found an online manual that states I can max out at 2x4GB sticks, however the crucial website says I can fit up to 2x8GB sticks. Which should I stick with? Also, if I go the 2x4GB, can I just purchase one more 4gb stick, or do I have to get 2 new ones? Can I just match what I have now (1x4gb), and if so, what brand/speed etc do I need?

Check this link - Click here !!. Something similar will do (make sure the voltage is 1.35v) memory. Good luck!!

Memory upgrade for Latitude 3540 Laptop:

The max is 8GB only (I confirmed with Dell US support) but ask with Crucial if they can provide you with some proof about the max. Stick with the original specs as long as you don't find any concrete information.

If you already have 1x4GB in your laptop then it's not necessary to go with two 4GB modules. You don't 've to match the brand but at the same time stay away from generic brands. As far as speed is concerned try to match the speed of the existing memory, suppose say your system has 1333MHz memory then go with the same speed.

There are many sites that offer this memory. If you need any suggestions then let me know. Good luck!:clin:
