videos in half an colours messed up

i just installed ubuntu 12.04 on a computer and now the colours are purple and green and the entire video is cut in half and still responds like it isn't cut in half.
HELP!

I've not seen that but perhaps I can get you started.
Describe your computer setup. Laptop? Desktop? New Old make model?
What software are you running giving you the grief?
Try installing VLC and see if that works better.

no solution for me - I'll try to post a screenshot from the Adobe web site. Running Ubuntu 12.04 on Pentium 4 HT 3.4 Ghz

anyway - purple, yellow, black/ white colors - lines...and video controls on Youtube etc...are almost invisible and not properly placed for use....
