Hi everyone, I've just put together my first build. I am using a A Gigabyte GA-H87M-HD3 and initially started using my HD integrated graphics on my i5. My friend gave me a video card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102770) and I've installed it. Although I've installed it and it is getting power and the fan is spinning, I'm not sure if its working. I've checked my device manager and it shows both "ATI Radeon HD 4800 series" and "Intel(R) Graphics 4600". I downloaded the drivers for the Sapphire. When I startup it now takes longer for the screen to turn on (so long that I only see the windows desktop and not the BIOS). Can I get some help or advice as to what is going on? Is everything working? I clicked disable for my Intel graphics to see what it would do and my screen just went black.

Thanks to anyone who can offer their help!

Solution
HD4850 has 2 DVI outputs. (no HDMI)
GA-H87M-HD3 has DVI, HDMI and VGA outputs.
I am guessing that you are currently using the VGA or HDMI output.
You can connect DVI to an VGA or HDMI monitor using an adapter.
Some adapters should come together with the HD4850..at least it is mentioned in the delivery package in amazon.."DVI to VGA/D-sub Adapter DVI to HDMI Adapter"
check it :)

If you want to use the iGPU of your i5, you have to plug the monitor to the mobo.
If you want to use the dedicated GPU, you will need to plug to the GPU.
Check it first :)

With the correct connection, you can then disable the iGPU from BIOS. If the monitor is still connected to your mobo, you will see always black after you disabled the iGPU in BIOS :)
