Hey guys, I would love if you could give me some feedback! i want as much bang for my buck and i also want great performance along with compatability. I need to render models as part of my uni course so im going for this:

CPU: Intel i7 3770K cpu
Case: Nzxt Phantom 410 case (non changeable, i have it already)
Motherboard: Maximus VI Formula (non changeable, i have it already)
Heatsink: Phanteks PH-TC14PE
GPU: R9290X-4GD5 ASUS
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb

Im not sure about PSU and ill probably get a SSD and a decent HDD
Is there anything im missing or is there any better replacements?

As well as this, have i completely gone blind and stuffed this up, from what i can tell this is all compatible but please let me know if you see something that is wrong

Please feel free to comment your own opinion, i would really appreciate it and as this is quite an expensive build i do not want to stuff it up!! thankyou all and good luck with the new year!

Solution
the motherboard and cpu combo wont work. the auss mb is a x87 1150 pin motherboard the only cpu that will fit on it are the haswell cpu. the older ib cpu have 5 more pins on them (1155). you need a z77 motherboard for the older cpu.
for one gpu a good 750w unit for cosair or seasoinc or a clone will be fine if your going to sli or thinking about it bump the power supply to a 850w unit. pay the extra for a modular power supply that you can plug in only the cables you need.
also be care full of the amd 290 line of cards. the better cards are the ones with the larger after market heat sinks the gpu runs hot and needs larger non standard cards to run near it rated speed under load. I would also on the gpu if you can hold off buying it for a few weeks and use the on board video for a few weeks...nvidia is slowing rolling out there newer maxwell gpu. the 750/750 ti are the first ones dropping and some of the high end cards are also showing up now (titan black cards).

hey,

if you are not able to replace the motherboard, (Im assuming you were going to say 4770K, since its a z87 haswell board) these are the best options you can get.
However, if the gpu is a reference design, I advise you to replace it with Sapphire TRI-X version. All in all, its a good system...

For PSU; I advise you to get at least 600-700W of 80+Bronze, modular or semi-modular type.

For SSD; Samsung 840 Evo 120GB is a good performance oriented budget friendly option. But you can always go for Samsung (40 Pro 128gb for pure performance.

I really like the Phanteks coolers, but you can always go for Noctua too. or if you are on tight budget you can get CM Hyper 212 Evo or X for like quarter price and similarly close performance.

One last thing, make sure that the memories or low-profile, in case you wanna fill all the memory slots in future (or now) some coolers can block access of the last memory slot next to the cpu, so you may not install...

Unless you're doing intense 3d rendering, video rendering and really intense stuff, you should opt for an i5 4670k

Your best chances are:

i7 4770k or i5 4670k (up to you)

r9 290x non reference (like sapphire tri-x)

Unless you're overclocking the stock intel heat sink will be the best choice

for the graphics card you should also look into the gtx 780 by nVidia. prices have lowered. the gtx 780 is a VERY high performance gpu and runs quieter and cooler than an r9 290x and overclocks better

Corsair Vengeance 16gb 8*2 RAM modules

Sapphire, is a VERY famous brand. It is AMD's GPU's main video card producer. very good reputation, customer service and overall a great AMD gpu manufacturer.

There are also other brands like Asus, but if I were you I'd stick to Sapphire for AMD GPUs and Asus for nVidia cards. Asus is a little pricey though.

Avoid MSI and Powercolor, Dataland and all that Crap. I've had bad experience with their GPU's and motherboards.

That's why everyone talks about Sapphire
