Should I switch from AMD to Intel?

Hi all,
I've been debating an never ending war within my mind for quite some time now.
I have a current build with an AMD FX-6300, and I love it to death, I really do. However my mind has constantly been wondering "what if I had gone with Intel?". Pretty much I'm concerned about how "futureproof" and "underpowered" my current system is. I primarily use my PC for gaming, light video editing and occasional streaming. I really need some opinions here. Below are my current system specs.


CPU- AMD FX-6300 with Corsair H100i
GPU- MSI Radeon R9 290x with NZXT Kraken G10
Mobo- ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
SSD- Samsung EVO 250GB
HDD- WD 1TB Blue
PSU- Corsair HX750 Gold Certified
Case- Corsair Obsidian 650D

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Yout mother board doesn't support Intel (from what I just saw on the internet)
I dont think it is worth it to change your motherboard and CPU just so you can say "Hey I have an Intel"
If you aren't satisfied with FX6300 go as suggested to FX8350

I too was going through the same thought process. I built a gaming rig based around an FX6300. At first I was dead set on using AMD to run BF4 on ultra at playable frame rates. I did a ton of research and gathered that it could be done with an FX6300 and an R9 270x at minimum. I was wrong. It ran ultra 1080p at about 32 fps. Not playable to me especially in multiplayer. So after upgrading to a GTX 770 it had to run better right? It did, but not by much. My CPU and motherboard were the culprits. I switched to an MSI Z87M-G43 and an i5-4670K and haven't looked back. I could have upgraded to an FX8350, but for $30 more I went with a 4670K. It now performs amazingly. Much smoother graphics, faster boot into Windows, and an overall snappier feel are the results. Originally it would have cost me just an extra $240. Well worth the initial investment. Now I have a bunch of AMD parts I'm going to lose a lot of money on.

Go with intel if money allows. You need a new mobo though.

If upgrading would the only thing i would do is upgrading the cpu to a fx 8350 and overclock it,the rest of your hardware supports that.
Did you already overclock that fx 6300? Did that make much difference at all? If not is your cpu not a bottleneck.

Yes, my CPU is OC'd to 4.70 GHz
