So I just bought my new CPU and thinking of replacing my old ram stick which is 8gb(4gbx2) HyperX Blue (which I recycled from my old pc) and after searching the web I found this good looking ram stick Corsair Vengeance Red and found out many good reviews from it .. but I wonder what does this "MHz" numbers I'm seeing .. 1333 Mhz, 1600 MHz .. 1866 Mhz .. and 2133 MHz and so on .. So my question is what does it mean ? and what should number I get ? the higher the better ? or lower the better ? BTW my motherboard is Asus A55bm-e FM2+ :) Thanks in advance ^^

Solution
I'd look to GSkill, they have a variety in 2133/9 (Trident X, Ripjaws X, Snipers, Ripjaws Z, Ares) - the Snipers and Ripjaws X are particularly good with AMD rigs

1600mhz Intel
1866mhz AMD

The best way to determine which stick you want is this way: Compare mhz vs CL (latency)
I for example found out that 1600mhz running at CL 7-8-8-24 is cheaper then slower memory running on CL10 - CL11.

Check out g.skill trident series (they are red) and have exactly that CL i am talking about, very very nice ram and cheaper then the rest.

So CL should be as low as possible for the price, now 1600Mhz does work on your motherboard but amd does favor 1866, i remember some problems people had with 1600mhz lowering performance due to that fact.

I don't know if I got the right understanding but according to what you said .. This CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)@1866 MHz with Timing 9-10-9-27-Cas Latency 9 is better than This CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)@2133 MHz with Timing 11-11-11-27 - Cas Latency 11 and also my processor is AMD A10-5800k (if it matters) .. *note: My motherboard runs memory with 2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz with max 32gb*

I got the part that lower CL is better .. but for my processor Amd A10-5800k and motherboard Asus A55bm-E If I got this right .. you're suggesting getting the one with 2133 MHz and CL of 9 ? (which clearly is not the Corsair Vengeance .. any suggestions ?)

Sorry for the on-going questions :) I just want to buy the best for my build and don't regret it later xD Thanks ^^

Yeah like i recommended the trident version, just bought it for a friend recently, i must say that GSkill in particulair always has a better price then competition and a lower CL. Its definitly the brand you want to look into.

I will :) but if you were me .. what would you get ? the Trident X ? or Ripjaws X(which you recommend with my system) ? both @2133 mhz but the ripjaws x have cl of 11 while trident x have cl of 9 .. I'll be getting the 16gb (2x8gb) since my mobo only have 2 memory slot ^^"
