I'm running the installation off an external DVD drive. Not sure if thats the reason but i've read others install from there before and had no issues.

Should i just stop the installation and try again? I don't wan a damage or corrupt anything by doing so. Also the grfx card, PSU and HDD are new additions. The HDD is second hand though but was told was in working order when i bought it on ebay.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You haven't mentioned how long it's taken, but it can take a while, especially on slow drives.

Is it possible to remove the drive from the case and move it internal? It's possible that the drivers for the USB/SATA converter aren't properly loaded.

I'd suggest trying a USB install, or seeing if you can remove the drive from it's enclosure and use it internally.

Sorry, its true i haven't mentioned the time frame, but its probably in the area of 2 hours now at a 1/4 of the "loading files" bar being highlighted.

I havent dismantled the drive but i could give it a try, i'd like to try the USB install but i currently don't have any way of creating or collecting one which is why if i can do it using the drive it would be preferable.

I know that the bar is growing, just very slowly. If i were to just wait, is it possible it would still work or will it most likely be corrupt anyway?

Well it didn't work, it just restarted the "loading files" process... and this time it started to open a lot quicker until it got half way and started going really slow again :/

It finally got past the "loading files" screen to "starting windows" but then it got a BSOD.... so i removed my new grfx card incase thats the reason, but it doesn't seem to be doing any better. Any advice?

I figured it out :) The CPU was set to turbo and not optimal. Apparently when in Windows setup, that messes it up. I also had to change from UEFI to legendary and change my HDD settings from RAID to IDE. Those 3 things fixed it :) thanks for your patience and attention though! Much appreciated
