Hi, I'm new at building computers, this being my first. Ive got an old computer I salvaged for parts (the case, power supply-iCute ATX-450w/P4) and new parts I got: ASRockH71M-DGS motherboard, Intel G2130 LGA1155 processor, 4GB DDR3 1600 1.5v Crucial CT51264BA160BJ RAM, and a 500GB Toshiba 3.5 inch SATA3 HDD. I also installed a secondhand HP DVD-ROM Drive DH20N. So after connecting all the parts, I tried to install Win XP home edition. Its all okay until windows tries to start, from the blue installation screen to a blank one then the infamous BSOD. It never gets past the "windows is starting" screen. I've changed the RAM bios voltage to 1.5v from the 1.6v, but dont know how to change the RAM latency timings. Any help is appreciated! Thank You:))

That error could be due to a lot of reasons but I have heard of people have success with using the repair function on the windows xp start-up disc.

Alternativley, there is this method that Microsoft released
