Hey guys, this is my first try at a custom PC build, it will be primarily used for gaming at 1080p single monitor and watching movies (and college I guess). Any advice or tips will be much appreciated. Would really like advice specifically on my selection of: Motherboard, Memory, SSD, Hard Drive, Case, and Power Supply, as these are the area's I'm least confident in my decisions. I plan to use the SSD for my operating system and don't plan to put any games on it (I've heard this is the thing). Planning on OC my GPU and CPU (and possibly system and vRAM cause I heard this was also a thing) but don't know much about it at this time so advice on that is also welcome. Do I need a sound card or Wired network adapter? What 22-24 cheap/good quality monitor would you recommend for gaming? This case front fan doesn't blow over the drives, is that a problem? Any recommendations on another case in the price range? Pretty much tell me any and every darn thing you can think of I need all the advice I can get. Thanks for reading

It actually looks really good to me. You could save about $15 getting come 1600 RAM, as 2133 is pointless for gaming, but other than that the components look good to me.

One thing on the case, though. You have a micro atx motherboard selected, but a full size atx case. This is perfectly fine, but a MicroATX case might make more sense. The Corsair 350d is a beautiful MicroATX case with a huge window.

For monitors, pretty much anything from Acer ASUS, Samsung, BenQ and HP are good.

Good observation, I'm still undecided about the motherboard but if I get the micro that case would probably be right for me. What do you think about these boards? I also just noticed that the gigabyte board doesn't support ram over 1600, so if I go with that board I would have to get 1600 ram. What is the difference between SATA 6 Gb/s and eSATA 6Gb/s found on the ASRock board?

Also I read somewhere that there was a minor difference between 1600 and 2133 in that it can slightly improve how smooth the game runs, and I was going to get corsair vengeance for the same price so I figured why not. What do you think?
