javaw problems with memory (Minecraft)

javaw.exe in task manager not dumping used memory and just hogging it all up, leading to over 2,000,000K used, and not dropping, with minecraft

2,000,000kb is around 2GB which is normal for minecraft, as to run smoothly it caches all of the chunks in memory. I can walk you through on how to change it to 1 GB but you will suffer significant FPS loss. What are your full system specs? You can also try optifine as that does help a little.
