Is there a problem with this build? If not, what are your thoughts?

I had put this together a year or so ago, and ended up not using it too much so didn't know there were any issues. Now, when i game for 2-4 hours, it will crash. Either the screen will freeze completely, but i can still hear music on headphones (sometimes the full soundtracks that are ingame, others music freezes @ 1 point) and other times, screen will go crazy and crash to a white screen.

my build is:
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX ATX RoG
CPU: AMD FX-8150 8 core black edition
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2x8) DDR3 240pin
Video Card: Diamond AMD Radeon HD 7970 3 GB GDDR5

Don't remember exact model of PSU off top of my head (am not @home) but it's an 850w ThermalTake.

Are these parts all compatible? If so, any ideas why this is crashing when i game for extended periods of time?

EDIT: Yes, i (occasionally) check temps, and don't see them overheating, however I haven't managed to check them within a short time of the machine crashing.

I don't use it for much other than gaming, the wife does occasionally and has never mentioned it crashing

Solution
Could be overheating, check your CPU and GPU temps when running some stress tests/benchmarks.

Also, Thermaltake PSUs aren't known for quality, it could be a PSU going bad. Your parts are all compatible, so it's something with hardware.

I would recommend doing the basics, do a clean reinstall of the AMD drivers, make sure BIOS is updated to the newest version, and run memtest and a hdd test.
