Hey guys , I'm using Windows 7 on my PC and I want to upgrade it to Windows 8 Directly using Upgrade Assistant , will i lose my stuff on D drive? also I only have a (Geforce 9100 256MB integrated graphics card) will it be able to handle Win 8 without any problems?
also my monitor's max resolution is ( 1280*1024 ) is it enough? or i will face problems because of it.

Thank You!

Upgrading to windows 8 make no sense with this low end hardware, windows 7 is perfect for you and moreover windows 8 has some flaws (using for 6 months almost) so u should better continue with windows 7

as much as I like Win8.1 at home on both of my machines, I'm not sure it makes much sense for you since you don't have modern hardware and no touchscreen.

that aside - your D drive should be safe but it might be best to unplug it while doing any upgrades. the monitor would work fine, but you'd need to check for drivers for your graphics. who makes the computer / motherboard that you're using? check there if they have drivers for Win8. if they don't, then maybe just leave it alone and stick with 7 for now.
