I want to build a system that isn't necessarily the fastest now but would allow me to upgrade in the future.

Approximate Purchase Date: March

Budget Range: 600 GBP ($900)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No (have 1080 tv until have more money or the wife gets annoyed)

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: London UK

Parts Preferences: None

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Here is a build I put together based on what little I know so far;

Here's another suggestion, nice to see that in the UK the R9 280x aren't overpriced...

You are wasting money mixing a APU with a dedicated GPU. The CPU part of the APU is week compared to similarly priced cpus. The CX series has longevity issues, the 550w XFX is a better unit and is cheaper. Heres a modified version of your build.

Thanks. I was wondering about the APU + GPU aspect.

I will have a look at your suggested build.

Thanks again.

This build is easily upgradeable to an FX 8320 for £20 more if you can but the FX6300 is a very capable processor in the meanwhile.

going with an apu and a gpu doesnt match up well, if you are set on going with amd, these other build posted are a much better route.

Its amazing how a few savings add up.

Both suggestions have been of great help.

One quick question, is there much point in looking for quieter components at this price level or will that push up cost?

Thanks a million for your time.

My mistake. Pretty logical when you think about it.

I'm not set on AMD but they seem better value with my budget.

Many thanks.
