Best Desktop For $500-600

I am looking for a pre-built desktop. It is going to be used for making music so it needs a decent processor. I found these two on amazon and wondering if anyone has some tips of finding a good pre-built machine.

  1. Those GPUs aren't very good for gaming, what will the computer be used for mostly? This one comes with a much better CPU and GPU:

"It is going to be used for making music..."
  3. Wow, I need to stop going through posts too quickly lol sorry!

The one I posted still would be better, the CPU is much better than the 41xx series.

I would much prefer this one, as it comes with an i5: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883265693

I really like that lenovo, but 240W power supply is nothing
  5. Well if you're not running a dedicated graphics card, 240w is more than plenty. That setup will probably never top 150w at once.
  6. Really? Check this list out:

    AGP Video Card 30W - 50W
PCI Express Video 50W - 150W one power connector, 150W - 300W two power connector
    Average PCI Card 5W - 10W
    DVD/CD 20W - 30W
    Hard Drive 15W - 30W
    Case/CPU Fans 3W (ea.)
    Motherboard (w/o CPU or RAM) 50W - 150W
RAM 15W per stick of RAM
    Processor 80W - 140W

This computer doesn't have an AGP or PCIe video card.

An overclocked i7-4770k with an overclocked GTX 780 will only pull about 350w at max load. The GPU is the most power hungry piece in the computer.

Cpu will pull a max of 80, HDD 15, motherboard 50, CD 15, RAM 20, fans 10. Adds up to 190, and that is theoretical max power consumption. It's very difficult under normal circumstances to pull 100% max load on everything in the PC, which is why I said 150.
