No Idea what im doing

So ive been a bit of a gamer for the last couple years and have recently been growing more and more impartial towards consoles. It seems the more i learn about gaming the more i realize PC gaming is the way to go. I have very little, if any at all, knowledge when it comes to building computers and was hoping the community here could help guide my research and possibly even teach me the things i need to know.

Im kinda setting a budget of 800$, not set in stone. Im using BF4 being ran in high settings as a bench mark, with a recording program running in the back. I also want to get into video editing, as for i have lots of ideas for youtube. I am willing to spend upwards of 1100$ if there are significant gains, but, would rather try and stay around the 800$ mark.

But if it is worth it and recommended, i will save up for a machine that will cost 2k$. Right now im just exploring options and ideas. I dont really plan on building this until march. So i got time to research and save up. I found this site in my searching and thought it would be a great place to start.
