how can I see the bits and pieces left on my hard drive, I watched an engineer taking control of my PC, and he found fragments of everything I had ever looked at, which was causing my problems. I asked him to delete them but no, I would have to take it into PC world or some other place. I'm 71yrs and this is all new to me, but I wouldn't mind some help. I'm running windows 8...OK a bit more on this problem. I am using Regcure pro,no problem with the program I certainly would recommend it. the PC which it was running on crashed , and under warranty, so it was replaced. On trying to install regecure on my new PC it would not accept the reg number so after a few more tries I gave in. So I phoned the helpdesk, and explained the problem that I was having, the person on the other end of the line, took over my PC to find what the problem was, yes sure enough he found it I could see it dozens of red circles with a white cross The comp had fragments of programs or whatever in it even before I bought it, so I asked him to delete this unwanted stuff , no I would have to take it back to the shop and ask them to clean it.That's going to cost me money I cant afford, "Sorry",That's not the end of my problems when telling him that I couldn't run Regcure, he said that the program is for one PC but that one is no longer in use its scrapped said, no you will have to buy another one which I did, it cured the problems that I was having. Waite a minute I thought this cant be right when someone buys a program, does it belong to the PC or me and my email address. So I sent this question to another help desk, and eventually got a refund of £22.So you see why I would like to do what he did, to delete this rubbish...jwsuk

Solution
GOOD QUESTION! AND HE COULDNT OR WOULDNT FIX IT? If it was somebody who cold called you on the telephone they are a fraudster looking for bank details.

What do you mean by look at them? Anyway. Old stuff stays on your drive until it is overwritten, but it should not affect anything. What are you trying to achieve? If you want the machine to run smoothly, download
'Ccleaner' which is free. Run it, and your pc should be like new again.
