I have a PC running windows 8. when i check the event viewer im getting a critical error saying the system is rebooting without clearly shutting down first. i dont understand why im getting this error because im properly shutting down the computer each time. im also getting a message saying that is was not properly shut down.

mine doesn't even randomly restart. everything works fine except i cant do the fast boot option because it thinks its being shut off improperly. im just worried it could damage something if it does this for an extended period of time. i have a 600 watt power-supply so i don't think low power is the problem.

If it makes you feel any better- my computer is a year old now and it has this problem- nothing got damaged. I do not see it restarting often. I catch it doing it several times- like when I leave it for a while- I come and it is on sign in screen. But it happens not very often, while according to even logger- I have it happening like 30 times a month. I do not even use that computer every day- it is my recording studio computer. So if somebody knows how to stop it- would be great to know. I posted about it under motherboards- not much help there. Do you have anything overclocked? Do you use buttons to physically shut down computer?
