Okay so my laptop that i had before i built my computer pulled about 2.2-2.5 MBps. im using a 150mbps usb adapter now and i'd be lucky if it pulled 1.8mbps. my computer is in the same room i used my laptop in and using the same exact router and everything. People claim that the adapter im using can pull 25-30 mbps, which im not expecting from my router, i just want it to be in the 2+ again and for some reason it struggles, I have it plugged in a 3.0 usb port so i cant imagine that it would be slacking. I have no idea what's going on and im getting extremely frustrated with it because it takes almost 7 hours to download a game, which isn't normal. Any ideas?

You need to be more clear on your use of MBps (MegaBYTES) and Mbps (MegaBITS). They are very different.
2.2-2.5MBps download speed is about average (About 18-20Mbps). What is your rated download speed from your ISP?
Your USB adapter may be rated for 150Mbps, but that is just from your router to the adapter. Your true throughput is limited to the weakest link, which is almost always your ISP connection.
The USB3.0 port is only useful if the adapter is 3.0 also. But even then, with wireless speeds, 2.0 is more then enough.
