Hey guys, I recently built a new PC and I'm currently using the MSI 970A-G43 motherboard. It's been giving me problems, and apparently this board is notorious for having problems. It doesn't have a heat sink over the VRM. My computer has been freezing randomly and I'm pretty sure it's due to my VRM getting to hot (other people have also had this problem). I'm now looking into a new board but I'm on a bit of a budget. I'd like to find a board that can support my setup for under $120.

My setup:

AMD FX-8350 CPU

8gb RAM (2x 4gb Gskill Ripjaws)

128gb ADATA SSD (main drive)

1tb seagate HDD (backup)

2gb PowerColor r9 270 GPU

MSI 970A-G43 motherboard

Lepa MX-F1 600W power supply

Any input is appreciated. If anyone could suggest a good board or even a fix to my heat and freezing problem that would be cool. Thanks!

Asus and Gigabyte are a step above MSI in my experience.I've had two MSI boards that were glitchy/buggy.
Personally I'm partial to Gigabyte boards.
It looks better and has more features imho.
8+2 phase CPU VRM power design for AMD high-TDP CPU support

So you think the Gigabyte is worth the extra few bucks over the Asus?
