Hello, I have two 8GB 2133mhz DDR3's and they are currently running at 1333mhz (My CPU-Z says 666.7mhz is frequency which i take it you double it from other posts) But how can i get my memory to run 2133hmz... :(

to my knowledge there are no CPU's intel or AMD that will run at that speed. In all cases what that speed is referring to is the overclock speed. If you look at the specs of your system board and check under memory support it will most likely have 2000Mhz OC which means overclock. You would have to increase your buss speed to reach that which inturn mean running your memory at 1066Mhz.

Hmm ok... and how can i do this? Is it safe? I would like to run at least in the 16**mhz range, if my pc can't handle 2133mhz!

There are Intel CPU's that will run 2133 MHz ram BUT as mentioned before me you do need to overclock. In the bios of the mother board there will be a setting to adjust the ram frequency. This is where you would need to set it to be the 2133 or the highest setting offered. If the settings do not offer Higher than 1866 then you will need to increase the bus speed to compensate.

Don't just jump in and set it right to 2133, start at 1866 and see if this works. Be sure to know how to clear the bios before doing so, as if it does not work the system will not boot and you may need to clear the bios before being able to reboot the system.

EDIT: Increasing the buss speed increases the speed of everything on the system. Upping the bus speed will increase the CPU speed as well so be sure to compensate for it. You tube and google will be a helping hand for guides for OCing.

Do you think my system will be ok doing 1866mhz and then 2133mhz? I will look up how to clear bios... :S

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Team Group Inc Vulcan 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Storage: Seagate 1TB 3.5" SSHD
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
Case: Apevia X-Trooper (Black/Green) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Rosewill 850W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - OEM (64-bit)

ALSO - My bios was giving my a fan error when i boot up, but it runs fine, cpu stays at 36 c normally. I have taken apart, reinstalled everything, but it still gives me this error after 3 reinstalls!

that asus board i believe has the mem OK button. If it does not boot then just press that button and it will reset the ram to a usable setting. That CPU will handle the 2133 speed. Now i look up the board it should have the 2133 MHz setting. make sure you also set the timings to the proper settings. You may even try to use the XMP settings.

for the fan issue make sure the CPU fan is plugged in to the CPU-fan header and not the CPU-OPT header unless you have 2 fans. This issue is the bios reading a bad fan speed and has nothing to do with OS.

Sorry, I'm basically dumb when it comes to this... How do i change the timings? Can i do through BIOS? Also, Is XMP in BIOS as well?

For fan i tried both, i used opt and the the normal fan plug, both came up with same error, so maybe faulty fan? Works fine! :D

The XMP will set the speed and timings for you. This feature and the ability to change the timings and speed will be in the bios.

as for the CPU fan you should have a CPU fan low speed setting (possibly named slightly different) in the bios as well. Set it to 600 RPM and try it again and see if there is still an error. If there is set it to ignore and this should stop there error. It is possible that the tachometer in the fan is bad and is causing this issue. To test this theory you will need to try a different fan in its place.
