tried over clocking but have under clocked

Hi I have a i7 4440k and asus pro mobo and have tried the way optimisation 4 times tonight none with any Overclock at all with system crashes and then the last one I just did it has underclocked it to 2.7 what am I doing wrong.also windows 8 boot times are really long and it's on ssd any ideas

What make/model of PSU are you using? What are your idle and loaded temperatures (CPU and GPU)? Is your motherboard BIOS current?

XFX pro750w my idle was 25 before I tried to over clock it I have not checked idle for a whole just been trying to over clock it. It crashes allot too o ain't got my gpu in there yet. And yeah bios is uptodate

I've got it back to stock now but the four way optimizing thing is crap

PSU should be good. I recommend setting your BIOS to its default state (you need a stable point from which to begin for both the CPU and your memory). Then, consult the guide that OllieOxenFree linked above.

How I do that get bios on defualt also do you know how I can get my hdd raid one to apair in my O'S
